The CGIScripter General folder tab contains fields
for defining overall parameters for the generated Perl CGI scripts.
field: Client Name
The Client Name information appears in each file to customize the output
for the client for which the scripts are being written. Some clients
require a copyright notice placed into their files, therefore this is
also done.
Field: File Version
As a project progresses, it may be necessary to create different versions
of the scripts to account for changes that are made to the design of
the web application. This version number is used as part of the naming
methodology used when creating each file to allow multiple versions
of the output files to reside in the save directory without being overwritten.
Multiple versions of a web application may also be tested simultaneously
in order to improve web site availability.
Field: Output Directory - Browse button
This field shows the output directory where the generated files will
be written on the computer running the graphical interface. The browse
button presents the user with a dialog box to select this directory
location.
Field: Path to Perl
This field contains the path to the Perl executable application for
Linux/UNIX/Mac OS X servers.
Menu: Database
Select the type of database which will be used by the Perl CGI scripts.
The output code and instructions will be customized for the type of
database selected in this menu.
